 Mission Statement To serve active people, age 55 and older, through social, intellectual & physically enriching programs.
Vision Statement – As the premier Senior Center in the northwest suburban Chicago, we are a donor supported, nationally recognized, diverse community-based model for promoting and enhancing independence, well being and personal growth of people age 55 and older.
The Des Plaines Community Senior Center, established in 1976, is an I.R.S. approved charity. Our independent, full-service, non-profit organization is dedicated to serving the needs of senior citizens in Des Plaines and surrounding communities.
If you have any questions on membership, volunteer service or sponsorships, please call the Des Plaines Community Senior Center location at 847-391-5717 or the Frisbie Senior Center location at 847-768-5944.
The main location is Frisbie Senior Center is located at 52 East Northwest Highway in Des Plaines and our other location Des Plaines Community Senior Center at Prairie Lakes Park, 515 E. Thacker Street. Both Centers are open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.
Come to the Cumberland Café, at the Frisbie Senior Center, for a delicious meal Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Members receive 10% discount at the Café.
Membership in the Des Plaines Community and Frisbie Senior Center is open to anyone over the age of 55. All seniors are welcome to participate in our programs, events and trips. New members are always welcome, but you DO NOT have to be a member to participate.

Single Membership is $40 for 1 year, $75 for 2 years, $100 for 3 years.
Couple Membership is $60 for 1 year, $100 for 2 years, $150 for 3 years.
(Membership includes a subscription to our newsletter)
(Membership provides discounts on some activities)
Sponsor a Senior - $40 / $60
– a donation that provide membership for a member who can’t afford the fees.
Legacy Gift - $1,000
– includes automatic annual membership renewal for life, and is partially tax deductible.
